Before leaving the Colony of Hong Kong I had the honour to address an application to the Government acting through the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies requesting that my incremental scale of pay which was to take five years to reach the maximum might be allowed to reach that point at an earlier period, and this was recommended by the Sanitary Board on the score of my long service, but it was not granted at the time.
Since leaving the Colony I understand that my application among others has been further dealt with by a Royal Commission, but with what result I am not aware.
As I have been retired by medical certificate before I have been able to reach my maximum pay, and thus earn it for pension purposes I most respectfully request that the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies will be pleased to consider my case.
